1.4_4 Gmail Patch Released
We have released a patch for Gmail ver 1.4_4. This patch uses the IMAP facility provided by Gmail. This requires you to enable IMAP in your Gmail accounts. Even though its beta, if everything goes smoothly we will stop using the old way to connect to Gmail and go with the IMAP approach.
You can download the patch from here.
It is now necessary to enable IMAP for Gmail accounts to work. Find out how by clicking here.
Why IMAP?
Maintaining the old style of connections was too much work and would break frequently whenever Gmail would change its login page. This will hopefully reduce the breakage.
Pros:
1) In the future we can use Gmail Apps.
2) We will be able to provide features like delete right from Notifier2.
Cons:
1) No more GDrive.
2) Removing GTalk.
I think the pros outweigh the cons. Hence we are moving forward and not looking back!
Thanks

Digsby Caught!
Digsby, a popular application that allows you to chat, keep tabs on emails and social networks, got a scathing review by lifehacker today:
Digsby Joins the Dark Side, Uses Your PC to Make Money
While at Notifier2 we are completely against such tactics it is understandable why Digsby did it. At the end of the day one has to make money and if a certain product is your only revenue, you will do everything to wring cash out of it.
Why doesn't Notifier2 do it? Because Notifier2 is not our primary revenue generating product. In fact we are ramen profitable and would like to become steak profitable.
But rest assured, we don't store your private info and we don't install third party add ons!

1.4_3 Released
We have released a new version of Notifier2. Whats changed?
1) We now change the icon in the system tray if new email comes in. Too many people asked for this. You will have to turn it on in the options. Go to Options\Email Handler Settings\ Change Tray Icon when you have email and turn it on.

2) Bug fix for Classic Yahoo. It would show an error if the inbox did not have any new mails.
3) Extra languages. Notifer2 now comes with French, German, Dutch along with Spanish and English.
4) Added two more affiliate accounts. Amazon Mechanical Turk and Adjix.
Thanks to Ken, Andre and Daniel for helping with translations. I would also like to thank Kwan for his Chinese translation. However thats not included in this release due to technical issues.
To Upgrade get the patch from the download page.

Help us translate and get a full version of Notifier2
Notifier2 is currently offered in English and Spanish. We would like to offer more languages. This is where you can help us in translating to a new language like German or French etc.
Whats in it for you: A free copy of the full version of Notifier2 or if you already have a full version some other kind of reward (To be decided).
How do I translate?: Under your Notifier2 Installation (default is c:\program files\notifier\), go to resources\lang. You will find a file called Messages_English.properties. Make a copy of the file and replace English with the language name. e.g. if you are translating to German your file name will be Messages_German.properties . You will find name value pairs, e.g. MainTab1 = Accounts. Replace the word Accounts with its German counter part. Do this for the complete file. When you are done, restart Notifier2. Under Options\General Settings you will find the new language. Select it and test that everything looks ok.
Submit the new file to notifier2 at gmail dot com. Upon approval we will contact you with your prize!
Happy translating.
UPDATE: We have a candidate for French. Thanks to Ken S
UPDATE 2: We have a candidate for Dutch. Thanks to Andre
UPDATE 3: We have a candidate for German. Thanks to Daniel
UPDATE 4: We have a candidate for Chinese. Thanks to Kwan
